What we do

Six categories. One goal: keeping you on the road.

01

Electrical Systems

  • 12V systems
  • 120V AC systems
  • Charging systems
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Complete electrical upgrades
  • Shore power issues
  • Power management

Electrical issues are the most common cause of unexpected RV breakdowns. Whether it's a dead battery, a shore power problem, or a 12V circuit that isn't responding, Sea Change RV starts with a thorough diagnosis before touching anything.

02

Solar & Off-Grid Systems

  • Solar panel installations
  • Lithium battery upgrades
  • Inverter upgrades
  • Off-grid system design
  • Battery monitoring systems
  • Charging optimization

Installations range from a single 100W panel to fully off-grid systems with 400W+ of solar, lithium batteries, an inverter, and a battery monitor — sized for the way you actually travel, whether that's a weekend at a campsite or a month in the desert.

03

Comfort

  • AC repair and replacement
  • Fan upgrades and replacements
  • Gas and electric heater service
  • Thermostat troubleshooting

In San Diego summers, a failed RV air conditioner is an emergency. We diagnose whether the issue is electrical supply, the AC unit itself, or the thermostat — and can replace rooftop AC units when needed.

04

Plumbing Systems

  • Plumbing troubleshooting
  • Water pump repair and replacement
  • Water system pressure checks
  • Leak diagnostics and repair
  • Fresh and gray water system repairs
05

Appliances & Systems

  • Refrigerator troubleshooting
  • Generator service and repair
  • Slide-out troubleshooting
  • Battery service and replacement
  • Awning and vent repair
06

Roof Repair

  • Roof inspections
  • Lap sealant inspection and reapplication
  • EPDM and TPO roof repair
  • Skylight and vent seal repair
  • Leak source diagnosis

Roof leaks cause the most expensive RV damage — and they're almost always preventable. A visual inspection and fresh lap sealant costs a fraction of the water damage repair it prevents.

Additional Repairs

Sea Change RV also handles many other RV repairs not specifically listed here. If you're not sure whether your issue fits, reach out and describe what's going on — we'll help you figure out the next step.

Outside our scope

We fix where you live — not what drives you.

Sea Change RV focuses on the systems inside and around your RV — electrical, solar, plumbing, comfort, and living-space repairs. If it's mechanical or vehicle-related, you'll need a different shop.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

Do you come to my location?

Yes — Sea Change RV is a mobile service. We come to your home, storage yard, campsite, or wherever your RV is parked. Skipping the dealership service queue is part of the point.

What cities do you serve in North County San Diego?

We serve the North County San Diego area including Valley Center, Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Fallbrook, Temecula, and Ramona. Not sure if you're in range? Reach out and we'll let you know.

What types of RVs do you work on?

We work on most RV types — Class A, B, and C motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, and camper vans. If you're unsure, just describe what you have when you reach out.

How do I request service?

The easiest way is to call or text (760) 297-6853 with a description of the issue, your RV type, and any photos or videos that help show what's going on. You can also use the service request form on the contact page.

Do you install solar panels on RVs?

Yes — solar installation is one of our specialties. We handle everything from single-panel setups to full off-grid systems including lithium batteries, inverters, and battery monitoring.

What's the difference between lithium and AGM batteries for an RV?

Lithium batteries are lighter, last significantly longer (typically 3–5x the cycle life of AGM), charge faster, and give you more usable power from the same size battery. AGM batteries cost less upfront but need more frequent replacement. For RV owners who travel regularly, lithium usually pays for itself over time.

Do you work on older RVs?

100% yes. We have — and regularly use — our own 30+ year old adventure mobile, Goldie. There's nothing better than getting an RV that's seen better days back on the road for more adventures.

Can you help if my RV air conditioner stopped working?

Yes. We can diagnose whether the issue is electrical, the unit itself, or the thermostat — and recommend the right fix to get you comfortable again.

How much does mobile RV repair cost?

Rates vary by job complexity. The Pre-Trip Readiness inspection starts at $125 for trailers and $175 for motorhomes. For other repairs and upgrades, we provide an estimate before starting any work — no surprise bills.

How soon can you come out?

Typically within a few days depending on current workload. For urgent issues, calling or texting (760) 297-6853 directly gets the fastest response.

Do you work on Class B campervans?

Yes. Class B vans have unique electrical and space constraints compared to larger motorhomes — we have experience working in tight quarters and with van-specific systems.

What areas of San Diego County do you serve beyond North County?

Our primary service area is North County San Diego — Valley Center, Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Fallbrook, Ramona, Temecula, and surrounding areas. Reach out if you're outside this range — we occasionally travel further depending on the job.
